The next morning, Parthena squirmed in bed. Sigh, she thought, I suppose I should get up now... Nah, five more minutes... No! Bad Parthena! You have to look for work today! Well, there's also school, but whatever. Parthena slowly woke herself from her bed, eyes closed. She wasn't exactly what you would call a "morning person", so she usually did this. Walking groggily around, she found her way to the door and made her way to the bathroom, eyes still shut. Her yawned, grabbing her hair brush and beginning to brush out her hair. She paused a moment. Wait a second, She thought, opening her eyes, ...this isn't my hair brush...
Parthena studied the room. There was a squeaky-clean bathtub with a nice shower attachment and a gorgeous curtain. The counter was marble, the floors an amazing light blue tile, the walls only a shade darker. She put down her-- well, the hairbrush she was holding and looked in the mirror.

Parthena Harlowe stood lost in thought in front of the local grocery store. She'd just been shopping, though she'd much rather be enjoying the nice day. The sparrows were singing as a gentle breeze pushed through the swaying trees. The sun beat down on her face as she inhaled, not a cloud to stop it. Parthena snapped out of her thoughts and looked to her left, smiling as she did.
"Hey, Rowena!" Parthena yelled, running up to her best friend Rowena Gatchell, "Have you found a job yet?"
"No, not yet." Rowena replied, "It's so hard to find a job at 14... Have you had any luck?"
"No, it's like you said." Parthena said sadly, "I wish we were older already! It'd be so much easier to put food on the table..."
"Yeah..." Rowena agreed, "Well, it's getting kinda late, lets go home. Maybe we'll have some luck in looking?"
