Beautiful Sky - Ch. 2

Chapter 2 ~ Prince of the Stars

     "Bye, Lumina!" Kitoko waved goodbye.
     "Goodbye!" Lumina also waved, "Thanks for helping me with my computer!"
     "No Problem!" Kitoko replied, begining to walk down the large flight of stairs down from the villa, "See you soon!"
     "Yup! Bye!" Lumina finished.
     whew, Kitoko thought, I can't belive it's already 9:30pm! It's a good thing I sent Bandit back, Snuggle hates to be left alone. Now, where my mp3 player... what? not in my pocket? Kitoko stopped and thought back, Oh, yeah! I showed that song to Lumina! I must've left it there... I suppose Lumina won't mind if I go back and get it. Kitoko turned back and headed back toward the villa as she dreaded the trip back up the stairs.
     Finally she made it back to the bottom of the steps. Kitoko sighed, "Another trip up the dreaded stairs..." She started marching up the stairs, cursing the stairs under her breath until at last, she reached the top. "Finally..." she breathed, "I'll just... sit on the fountain a second to catch my breath..." She then stumbled over to the fountain to sit down.
     All of a sudden she heard the door to the villa open and close. Is that Lumina? she wondered, Maybe she saw my mp3 player! Kitoko got up and walked around the corner of the fountain, only to knock into something and be knocked down to her butt.
     "Ow!" She said, looking down at this person's shoes. They were not women's shoes. "Who...?" She asked looking up into warm auqa-blue eyes.
     "I'm so sorry." The man appologied, helping her up, "Are you alright?"
     Kitoko paused before answering to scan who she was talking to. He had long sliver hair and aqua-blue eyes as bright as gemstones. He wore a tattered, snow-leopard patterned jacket with a black t-shirt underneath and faded purple jeans. "Y-yes..." She replied, "I'm fine, i-it was my fault, anyways, I wasn't watching where I was going..."
     "No, no," he responded, "It was my fault, I was in such a rush, I wasn't watching out for beautiful maidens such as yourself."
     Kitoko just blushed in response, her ears pulled back.
     The man grabbed her hand, "Allow me to introduce myself. You may call me Phantom Skye, prince of the stars, Skye for short... the stars say you look beautiful this night."
     "Uh-uh... I-uh..." Kitoko uttered, speachless, blushing a deep crimson red, "N-nice to... meet you... M-my name is K-kitoko... uh-- Kitty for short..."
     "Ah, Kitoko," he replied, "such a lovely n--"
     "STOP THIEF!!" Lumina screamed as the front door swung open, "Give me back my necklace!!"
     "Theif?!" Kitoko questioned, her ears and tail both up.
     "Hehe..." Skye replied, "Yes, the Phantom Thief... I suppose I've been caught, but I'm a bit pressed for time." He finished, simply waving and turning around to leave. "See you again, my neko princess."
     Kitoko once again turned broght red at this.
     Lumina ran around the fountain. "I said stop!" She yelled angrily.
     Skye turned around and placed a finger on her lips, stopping her from running right into him. "You shouldn't let such raw anger spoil your beauty..." he said sweetly before turning around again and begining to walk away.
     Lumina was blushing furiously. "... I can't take it anymore!! Phantom Skye!!" She screamed running after him, only causing him to break into a sprint.
     Kitoko stood, motionless, waiting for Lumina to return.
     Lumina returned, blushing, smiling and out of breath. "Phantom Skye... He got away from me!"
     Kitoko went up to her friend, "You okay?" she asked.
     Lumina nodded. "I'm fine!" She assured Kitoko, "Oh! By the way, you forgot this in my room!" She finished by handing Kitoko her mp3 player.
     "Ah, Thank you!" Kitoko thanked her, "I was coming back to get it when I bumped into that guy... You said he took a necklace, right?"
     "Don't worry about it," assured Lumina, "It wasn't that expensive, only about 100,000G."
     Kitoko sweatdropped, "A h-hundred th-thousand gold?!"
     "Yeah, about that." Lumina nodded, smiling, "Not worth that much!"
     Such is the life of a rich girl... Kitoko thought, still having a very evident sweatdrop. "O-okay, if you're not worried about it, I guess I'lll see you tomorrow."
     "Okay! Bye!" Lumina waved to her as she started down the stairs again.
     Phantom Skye, She thought to herself... what a pretty boy...
     She tried to get him off her mind all that night with no such luck. Even dreaming that night of the Prince of the Stars...
